Morris Area Arts Boosters
The Morris Area Arts Boosters exists to provide funding for arts enrichment opportunities for the students in the Morris School District. Since 2004, we have awarded over $70,000 for various programs in music, dance, theater, visual and literary arts. Our main revenue sources are the annual Arts Festival & Carnival in the spring and memberships in our 501(c)3 organization.
MAAB supports all of the arts in our K-12 public schools. Projects we have funded wholly or in part in recent years include:
a dolly cart for a new keyboard for the music department;
working with Community Education to bring in the CAAM Chinese Dance Theater to work with Elementary Phy Ed students;
sending a group of 7th graders to the Minnesota Opera;
artist-in-residence Jim Mondloch to teach watercolor techniques to the 3rd grade students;
artist-in-residence Anne McFaul Reid to teach 4th graders to design, build and decorate night lights;
providing special paint for a 5th grade class to decorate their model rockets;
funding outdoor art easels for the preschool;
providing tickets for the Spanish department to send students to “The House on Mango Street” in St. Paul;
paying fees for students attending Honor Band, Honor Choir and the UMM Jazz Fest;
and many others!
